Challenge: The online floor coverings retailer Rug Trader has existed for ten years. Dig deep and you find a fascinating story behind the brand – not that the public would ever know. When they contacted Osmosis they were hiding behind a bland and generic ecommerce storefront that didn’t excite or connect.
Execution: We injected some romance into the relaunched brand to highlight their provenance. Osmosis brought the eponymous Rug Trader to life with a classic explorer archetype. We threw out the faceless and told a human story which ignited the senses. You were no longer buying just a rug, you were buying an adventure.
Outcome: From a mish-mash came a website which offered a carefully curated range of floor coverings, each with a story to delight the customer. Rug Trader now had a crucial air of authenticity and expertise – vital in a crowded market where buyers are time poor and seek trusted guidance.
